Earlier, there were talks between Mastantuono and PSG, but Real Madrid seem to have taken the lead in the negotiations. A Real Madrid scout, Juni Calafat, traveled to Argentina to persuade Mastantuono to choose the Spanish club. After this, Mastantuono spoke with Xabi Alonso on the phone and agreed to join Real Madrid.
Mastantuono's contract with River Plate is worth €45 million, but the two clubs have not yet reached an agreement on the transfer details.
