Fenerbahce has released a statement, saying that Mourinho has "parted ways" with the club. They also thanked him for his efforts and wished him well.
Mourinho still had a year left on his contract, which means he is eligible for a significant compensation package. According to reports, he will receive approximately £7.7 million in severance pay.
In the past, Mourinho has received substantial payouts from other clubs after being sacked. For example, he received £17 million from Real Madrid and nearly £20 million from Manchester United in 2018. At Roma, he received around £3 million, while at Chelsea, he took home £18 million in 2007 and £8.3 million in 2015.
Most surprisingly, Mourinho received £15 million in compensation when he was sacked by Tottenham after just 17 months in charge. This brings his total earnings from sackings alone to around £89 million across his career.
