Van Bronckhorst will bring his experience to the team as they aim to defend their title in what is expected to be a challenging season with many changes on and off the pitch. The club has confirmed his appointment in a statement, which also includes the return of Xavi Valero and the departure of Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel.
According to the statement, Xavi Valero returns to Liverpool as the new head of first-team goalkeeper coaching after spending seven years with West Ham United. Valero first joined the Reds in 2007 under Rafael Benitez and has worked with several top clubs, including Chelsea, Napoli, and Real Madrid. After a stint with Hebei China Fortune, he joined West Ham in 2018.
As for the goalkeeping department, Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel will be leaving the team ahead of the next campaign. Liverpool thanks them for their contributions and wishes them the best for the future.
The changes are part of the team's efforts to strengthen its coaching staff and prepare for the upcoming season.
