This is a tall order, and if the Red Devils don't hit the ground running, it could be another long and challenging season ahead. However, Amorim remains confident that with the right players in place, his team will be on the right track.
One player who will likely be moving on from United is Jadon Sancho. After being loaned to Chelsea for the 2024/25 season, Sancho failed to impress, scoring just three goals and providing four assists in 33 games. Chelsea ultimately decided to send him back to Manchester rather than sign him permanently, and now Sancho is looking for a new opportunity.
Sancho's numbers at Chelsea might suggest that he's not been as poor as many perceive. His 85.2% pass accuracy was one of the best in the Chelsea squad, and his shooting accuracy of 66.7% is more than reasonable. However, his lack of defensive nous and application may have been a major factor in his poor performance.
Despite this, Sancho's future might be brighter than expected. Italian Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly reignited their interest in the player, and may be willing to make a deal. Both Dusan Vlahovic and Douglas Luiz could be part of any negotiation tactic, and given that Sancho's contract is up in a year's time, it makes sense for both clubs to work out a deal.
Meanwhile, Vlahovic's credentials are impressive. He scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 40 games, making him the top scorer for Juventus. His stature and eye for goal make him ready-made for the Premier League, and he is more mobile than United's current incumbents, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Luiz, on the other hand, has had a disappointing stint at Juventus, failing to make a significant impact. However, he still has a lot to offer, particularly in terms of his competitiveness in the middle of the field. With 34 ball recoveries and nine successful tackles from 15 attempted, Luiz is a player who can bring a lot of energy to the table.
Players like Sancho, Vlahovic, and Luiz often perform better when they have a point to prove. Given that all three need to do just that, it's not surprising to see this one get over the line.
