Charlie Jackson, McTominay's first coach at United, is happy to see him thriving. He remembers McTominay as a dedicated and eager player. "In my time at United, we didn't have video recordings, but if we did, you would have seen a very talented player," Jackson said.
He kept McTominay's first team jersey, training jersey, and football as a memento. "You could tell he was special, even back then," Jackson said.
Jackson praised McTominay's work ethic, saying, "He would spend extra time practicing what he learned during training sessions. He was always eager to improve."
Jackson also credited Jose Mourinho, who gave McTominay his debut, for playing a significant role in his development. "Mourinho was great for him. He gave him his chance and looked out for him," Jackson said.
Jackson believes that McTominay's success is due to his ability to work well when he feels confident and supported. "If you believe in him, he'll go the extra mile," Jackson said.
