During the second half of last season, Chilwell played on loan at Crystal Palace, making 11 appearances and scoring one goal in all competitions.
Chelsea has now announced that Chilwell has joined Strasbourg on a permanent basis, bringing an end to his time with the club.
The transfer fee paid by Strasbourg to Chelsea is not yet known, but it has been confirmed that Chilwell has signed a two-year contract with the French club.
