RB Leipzig values Simons at around £60 million. Their sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, has made it clear that the player will only leave the club if they are satisfied with both the sporting and financial aspects of the deal.
Schäfer explained that if the transfer doesn't meet their requirements, Simons will stay with RB Leipzig for another year. This means Chelsea still has some work to do to convince RB Leipzig to let Simons go.
Simons recently played for RB Leipzig in a 4-2 win over Sandhausen in the DFB Pokal, scoring the winning goal in the 96th minute.
