Postecoglou was recently sacked by Tottenham for not performing well in domestic competitions. Despite this, he had achieved a significant success with the team by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United. His winning goal was scored by a 1-0 margin.
However, Tottenham decided that Thomas Frank was the right person to take over as their new manager. They convinced him to leave West London and move to North London instead.
It is also reported that Brentford had considered hiring Postecoglou, but they ultimately decided to appoint Keith Andrews as their new manager. Andrews has been working as a set-piece coach under Frank and this will be his first managerial role at any level.
